In the previous article An Overview of Diaphragm Valves, you have already known what the diaphragm valve is. Its opening and closing part is a piece of the diaphragm made of soft material, which is used to separate the body cavity, cover cavity and the drive parts.
Sanitary diaphragm valves is a special type of diaphragm valve which has higher specifications and is safer and more hygienic. The main material of sanitary diaphragm valves is stainless steel.
Although the stainless steel sanitary diaphragm valve has a better performance than the ordinary valve, one thing similar is that all kinds of valves have a service life and maintenance cycle. Regular maintenance can improve the performance of the valve as well as its lifespan.
The following two points should be paid attention to in the operation manual of sanitary diaphragm valves.
Valve Assembly
Both of the assembly and disassembly are important for the maintenance of the sanitary diaphragm valve. If the assembly is failed, a terrible result may happen that the diaphragm is damaged, the valve is leaked and the medium is contaminated. So make sure you have tightened and retightened the valve in the assembly process.
Diaphragm Replacement
The service life of a sanitary diaphragm valve is greatly determined by the lifespan of the diaphragm. Therefore, to ensure that the valves do not fail, the diaphragm should be regularly changed whether necessary or not.
What should be a proper period to replace the diaphragm? The answer is to pay attention to the physical signs such as excessive wear, corrosion, or fluid leakage. These signs are the reflections of a valve failure. So please replace your old diaphragm as soon as possible if one of these signs appears. I have a video about the diaphragm replacement for you at the end of this article. Hope it will be helpful for you.
